NOVA Tri Jet Cup
The Nova series is the second model offered by The Small Lure Company. This cup faced tri-jetted trolling lure was inspired by the 2016 StrategicAngler® limited edition Nova popper created and designed by MRubiano. The original 2016 Nova was a keeled ten inch popper created for X-heavy setups and was converted into a trolling lure that offers a sustained bubble trail with a tight wiggling action.
The Nova can be used on a flat-line or an outrigger as it will dance both inside or beyond the prop wash. The Nova tracks straight and true up to 18+ knots with its heavy center keel. Even at slower speeds around 6 to 10 knots, the Nova will occasionally break the surface causing the air to surround its unique head design. This cup faced design causes cavitation around the depression producing a prolonged bubble trail. Just like the Cruiser-T, the Nova heads feature a UV additive which makes it fluoresce in the blue spectrum to visibly attract predators even in cloudy and low light conditions.
The Nova is available in 3 sizes and 8 different color patterns to represent the most predominant bait fish across the world. All lure patterns have been tested in various fisheries from the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic, Caribbean, Australia, Micronesia and Hawaii and has successfully captured some of the most sought after big game species across the globe. Each lure head comes with a color matched skirt to complete the bait fish it represents.
